The VIPColor VP610 uses two black ink cartridges to ensure consistently high-quality, rich black colors for both text and graphics. Rather than producing black by mixing cyan, magenta, and yellow (which can result in a muddy color), the printer uses black ink directly. The two cartridges help achieve dense black tones and prevent "color bleed" that could otherwise occur when printing fine black details over colored areas.
